Ingredients
Instructions
- So first up you want to get that oven preheated, about 180°C should do it.
- All you do is chop the rhubarb and throw it straight into your baking dish! Just sprinkle over the sugar and pour cold orange juice on top, no need to be perfect.
- To prepare the crumble, simply rub together by hand (with your fingertips) the butter and flour until it looks like crumbs. It only takes a couple minutes but is easy enough. Then stir your sugar in.
- Sprinkle the crumble on top of the rhubarb and rub it in slightly so everything is covered.
- Place it in the oven for 35-40 minutes or so. You want golden browning on top and bubbling below.
- Wait 10 minutes for it to cool down before you eat, otherwise you'll burn your mouth!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen rhubarb?
Yes. You can bake from frozen, but add a few extra minutes and reduce added liquid slightly.

Not at all! Baked, raw rhubarb becomes exactly how great gnaw many and is extra durable.
What should I serve with rhubarb crumble?
In the UK, warm custard is the classic choice, but cream or vanilla ice cream also work well.
